How can I delete my data?
You can completely remove your Verawell account and everything that goes with it — your sessions and appointments, your shared and private notes, your entries and thought records — in one of two ways:
- Ask your therapist (or the app’s administrators) to delete your account. They can do this directly within the app; deletion removes your profile along with all the data created while your account was active.
- Email us at [email protected] from the address you signed up with, and we’ll delete your account and data for you.
One important note before you do: this step is permanent and irreversible. All sessions, notes, entries, and thought records connected to your account are physically deleted from our database — there is no “recover from trash” or undo. What remains after deletion are only limited technical structures, e.g. anonymous account identifiers without any name or content, and ordinary system backup copies that live only for their short expiry window (typically 7–30 days) before those disappear too.
